Submitting a report, communicating via chat and logging back in

Submitting a report

1. On the main page, click on 'Get started'.

2. Select the most appropriate pathway for your report and click 'start'. Note that this page will contain different pathways depending on which organisation you're reporting to.

Tip: The questions you see within the form will vary depending on what you're reporting about and which organisation you are reporting to. The following screens give some simple examples of questions that you might see.

3. Choose whether to remain anonymous or confidentially provide your contact details.

4. Respond to some questions. Note that some questions are skippable, and some questions contain additional information in an info box.

5. Select or confirm the contact point and recipient of your report.

6. Submit your report by click on the 'Submit' button at the bottom of your screen.

7. Choose an option to log back in later. Your log-in details are not linked to your report. You may select any option even if your report is anonymous. If you wish to receive updates on any activity on your report, select any of the top three.

You can remain anonymous no matter which option you select on this page, but we think it's important to give you options. Some of the options allow you to receive notifications when there is an update to your report.

You can click through to any option to read more about it.

8. Note that if you choose the Elker Key as your log-in method, download the PDF with key details and keep it handy to log back in to view your report.

Using the two-way chat (Messenger)

9. After submitting your report, you will be logged in. Navigate your way through to the 'Messenger' tab to communicate via the encrypted two-way chat with your selected contact point.

You can type a message in the 'Type message' box. You need to click the 'Send' button to send the message to your contact point.

10. When you are ready to log-out, you will be reminded of your chosen login method and the web address (URL) to return to login. Take a note of these somewhere safe.
